Hoboken Ferry Radio Tower

R. Baker & Son utilized a ten man crew to dismantle a 360 foot high radio tower located on the roof top of the Hoboken Ferry Terminal.

This project required the utmost safety procedures due to the fact the dismantling occurred close to NJ Transit railroad waiting area.

R. Baker & Son worked closely with local Hoboken Police Department and Port Authority officials to maintain traffic control and pedestrian safety.

R. Baker & Son performed sixteen picks each section was approximately 18\' high, weighing approximately 18,000lbs. R. Baker & Son utilized four 3/4\" wire rope slings that were installed on the tower and cut each section free utilizing torches. Each section was then picked and lowered to designated staging areas.

To ensure crane safety and placement, load bearing tests were conducted on the roadway for weight distrubition.
