R. Baker & Son All Industrial Services completed the removal of existing structures, equipment and machinery from a section of a power plant to make room for expansion.

Scope of work included:

Dismantling of Electrical Equipment and Conduit
Dismantling of Power Plant Equipment including Turbines, Frequency Changers, Heat Exchangers
Dismantling of Power Plant Machinery
Rigging of Dismantled Power Plant Equipment and Machinery From Building
Interior Demolition of Concrete Structures and Equipment Bases

Due to weights of the equipment to be dismantled and rigged, critical lift engineered plans were required. For example, R. Baker & Son developed a critical lift plan to utilize a 75 ton overhead crane to rig out dismantled frequency changers weighing 250,000 lbs. each. Each lift was performed while the plant remained operational.
