Rigging

R. Baker & Son performed the intricate rigging and installation of Lyopholizer at Schering-Plough Building S7 in Summit, NJ. R. Baker & Son was required to develop and implement an engineered site specific lifting and rigging plan. The Lyopholizer was delivered to the site and off loaded from the tractor trailer with a 185' crane. Once off loaded, the Lyopholizer was transported via crane through an opening made on the second floor of Building S7. A clear path was created from the edge of the building to the final set location. Two supports were installed from first floor slab to the first floor ceiling at the leading edge of the building opening in line with the concrete building trusses located on the interstitial level between the first and second floors. In line with the first floor supports a second set of supports which were installed between the first floor ceiling and the bottom of the concrete building trusses per blueprints. Scaffold planks were laid in line with concrete support trusses on the second floor of the leading edge of the building to the final location where the equipment was set. These planks were utilized as a tracking system with rollers to travel the equipment from second floor window to its final setting place. Upon the completion of the rigging activities, all bracing and rigging materials were removed from site and the building was sealed and the area was left in a broom swept condition.
