PSE&G R. Baker & Son performed the decommissioning and dismantling of four gunite lined steel stacks from the top of the PSE&G Glenmont, NY powerhouse. Before dismantling of the 20' diameter, 170' tall stack structures, material management was very important. This required the segregation of 240 cubic yard of flyash removed from the breaching, gunite and carbon steel for recycling. In order to perform this procedure, R. Baker & Son secured 8" pipe from the ground to the 9th floor to house 6" kanaflex hose that was used to blow the product into a Turbo-Vacuum truck. All personnel used on this project were 40-hr. HAZWOPER certified and CSE trained. |
