R. Baker & Son Wins EBJ Business Sustainability Achievement Award

Environmental Business Journal (EBJ), the leading business newsletter for the environmental industry, has announced the winners of the 2008 EBJ Business Achievement Awards, recognizing outstanding firms in the environmental industry. This annual awards program recognizes firms for their strong financial performance and growth as well as for specific projects which are significant in the advancement of the environmental industry.

Baker & Son All Industrial Services won an EBJ Business Achievement Award in Practice Innovation: Sustainability for the successful deployment of its Green Initiative Program, under which it attempts to recycle 100% of all waste materials generated during its demolition and decommissioning projects. A disabled veteran-owned business under the same ownership for over 74 years, R. Baker & Sons has grown into a professional organization with several offices employing nearly 100 employees. Services include total building demolition, selective dismantlement, facility decommissioning, plant and equipment relocation and re-installation, demolition consulting, on-site concrete crushing, scrap-metal salvage, recycling and used-equipment purchasing.
